General Information:
The Structured Query Language (SQL) Programmer is a full-time, non-classified position currently funded through June 30, xxxx. Employment beyond that date is dependent upon extended funding. Candidate must have substantial work experience and enhanced ability to make decisions, confer with employees and work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts data mining and creates reports to answer critical federal and state requirements
Performs all aspects of development, testing, and implementation of new applications programs and enhancements
Resolves routine to complex programming problems and determines appropriate solutions
Design and/or participates in designing applications systems
Partakes in cost-benefit analyses
Researches and makes recommendations of tools and technologies to determine alternative technology solutions
Coordinates resolution of problems with the operational system
Confers with users to analyze, develop and maintain programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree (such as in computer science, mathematics or information systems) or a two-year degree or certificate and relevant programming skills and experience
Experience:
Designing programs and performing analysis
Writing in one or more commonly used programming languages or in 4th generation languages appropriate for multi-use/multitasking environments
Database structure and data retrieval from Microsoft SQL
Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Business intelligence Suite
Writing program documentation in accordance with appropriate industry standards
Proficient in SQL, web development, project management, customized report development and software solutions
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
Experience working in a higher education environment
Knowledgeable in Ellucian (formerly Datatel) ERP system.
